Philanthropy

At Michigan State University our Panhellenic Chapters are very involved in many different types of philanthropic organizations. Below is a list of each chapter and specific organizations they partner with and events put on during the school year to help raise money or awareness. 

Alpha Chi Omega

  • Alpha Chi Omega Foundation which supports educational programs for victims of domestic violence such as the Center Against Rape and Domestic Violence

  • MSU Safe Place

  • Volley against violence in the spring and Walk-A-Mile in the fall

 

Alpha Omicron Pi

  • Juvenile Arthritis, Arthritis and related diseases

  • Arthritis Foundation

  • Smoke Out Arthritis, Spike Out Arthritis

 

Alpha Phi

  • Alpha Phi Foundation which benefits research and educational programs that support Cardiac health

Alpha Xi Delta

  • Kindly Hearts Initiative, an organization supporting children experiencing foster care or homelessness. 

  • Haven House

  • Football Frenxi Tournament in the fall

  • Autism Speaks

 

Chi Omega

  • Make-A-Wish foundation that grants wishes to children with life threatening diseases.

 

Delta Gamma

  • Service for Sight, an organization that aids those who are visually impaired.

 

Gamma Phi Beta

  • National philanthropy is Girls on the Run, which provides experiences and resources that build spiritual, mental, and social resiliency in girls.

Kappa Alpha Theta

  • National philanthropy is CASA, which stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates. This organization utilizes trained community volunteers to speak on behalf of an abused and neglected child in court.

  • Kicks for CASA Soccer Tournament each year

  • KAT at Bat Baseball Tournament each year

 

Kappa Delta

  • Confidence Coalition

  • Girl Scouts of America

  • Prevent Child Abuse America

  • Historically they support orthopedic research awards and the Children’s Hospital of Richmond, Virginia.

 

Kappa Kappa Gamma

  • NOVA Foundation

Pi Beta Phi​

  • Pi Beta Phi's philanthropy is Read>Lead>Achieve, an organization that raises money to buy books for students who couldn't afford them otherwise.

  • Prevent Child Abuse America

  • Sigma Delta Tau Foundation

  • Jewish Women International

 

Sigma Kappa

  • Supports Alzheimer’s Disease and Gerontology research through the Sigma Kappa Foundation

  • The Main Sea Coast Mission

  • Inherit the Earth

 

Zeta Tau Alpha

  • Breast Cancer Education and Awareness

  • Operates under the Think Pink umbrella, which includes the American Cancer Society, National Football League and Bring Pink

  • ZTA works in conjunction with these national organizations to further research and awareness for breast cancer.
